It’s now May, which means it’s Mortal Kombat month! The highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 film is now upon us.

In case you didn’t know, Toronto racks up more parking offences than any other city in Canada – but not for long. With Warner Bros. Pictures Canada gearing up for the release of Mortal Kombat II, they called in some outside help, because nothing says “pay your ticket” like a little movie magic!

Now’s the time to strike back at Toronto’s parking perps and restore order to the streets. From May 1 to May 10, you can see Kung Lao’s handiwork, courtesy of his blade-brimmed hat.

In theatres on May 8, Mortal Kombat II is sure to delight fans of both the films and video games. If you’re looking to really get into the spirit of all things Mortal Kombat II, and you live in Toronto, you’ll definitely want to check out one of the following places to see the world-exclusive installation.

The experience is complete with hidden easter eggs and QR codes etched into the set, giving fans the opportunity to enter for a chance to win $2,500 in gas cards! A prize for a champion which couldn’t have come at a better time. Flawless victory!

All About Mortal Kombat II

From New Line Cinema comes the latest high-stakes installment in the blockbuster video game franchise in all its brutal glory, Mortal Kombat II.  This time, the fan favourite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.

Karl Urban stars as Johnny Cage, alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, with Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.

Director Simon McQuoid returns to helm the follow up to his explosive 2021 cinematic adventure, from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater, based on the videogame created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.
