Netflix has released the trailer for the highly anticipated animated feature Kpop Demon Hunters. Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Applehans, the film is slated to be released on Netflix on June 20! 

When they aren’t selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong) and Zoey (Ji Young Yoo) use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.

We don’t know about you, but this sounds like it is going to be pretty epic to us!

Distributed by Netflix, the film is a Sony Pictures Animation production featuring a stellar voice cast. Arden Cho, May Hong and Ji Young Yoo provide the voices of the K-Pop trio known as Huntrix. Regarding the rival boy band, Ahn Hyo-seop voices their lead singer, Jinu. Other cast members include Ken Jeong, Liza Koshy, Joel Kim Booster, Kim Yunjin, Lee Byung-hun, and Daniel Dae Kim.

In the trailer, viewers get a glimpse of Huntrix in action, both on stage and getting battle-ready to take down various demons. However, they were never expecting their newest rivals to be a group of demons, determined to steal the souls of their fans. With the world at stake, the trio must do whatever they can to ensure all souls are saved.

Kpop Demon Hunters includes original songs for the film written by Danny Chung, IDO, Vince, KUSH, EJAE, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick, and Daniel Rojas, with music produced by Teddy Park, 24, IDO, DOMINSUK, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, and Ian Eisendrath. 

The lead single “Takedown” is performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung of K-pop girl band Twice.


Kpop Demon Hunters begins streaming on Netflix on June 20.
